Social media was abuzz over a recently-discovered creepy-looking creature which washed up at Hollingworth Lake in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England.
Dubbed as “ancient monster” or “lake monster”, as reported on Unilad, the five-foot beast was discovered by 32-year-old Jonny Beckett while he was walking with his partner on the said shore.
Thinking it was a crocodile or an ancient creature, he immediately took a photo of it. “It looked huge – about 5 ft. in length. A group of kids saw me taking the photo and looked horrified.”
With this discovery, people were led to believe that they were looking at “some sort of ancient creature from the murky depths.”
Some people thought the creature was a massive dead pike, a carnivorous freshwater fish commonly found at Hollingworth Lake. But with this one having a razor-sharp teeth, the locals were scared enough not to visit the area again. “What eva (sic) it is a monster or a pike. It’s bloody horrible I won’t paddle in the lake again, that’s for sure.”
