Google Celebrated 2014 Philippine Independence Day with ‘Bayanihan’ Doodle

Manila, Philippines – Google revels along with the country’s celebration of its 116th Independence Day with a ‘bayanihan’ doodle

Yesterday, visitors of google.com.ph saw the special doodle that pays tribute to the Filipinos’ spirit of “bayanihan,” – it displayed the culture of townsfolk helping their neighbors move their homes by carrying it on their shoulders using bamboos.

Eventually, by clicking the bayanihan-themed doodle, Google search results related to the Philippine Independence Day will appear.

Here in the modern times, the term “bayanihan” has become a word used as a symbol of Filipinos’ ability to unite for a common goal and purpose.

However, this is not the first time Google reveled along with Filipinos with a special doodle. Same day last year, the Filipino online citizens saw an animated doodle which showed a man waving the Philippine flag.
