Sunbathers were relaxing and swimming when a freak storm blew in, dropping huge chunks of hail as holen marbles to some the size of golf balls and hen eggs as people ran for safety in the Russian city of Novosibrisk.
It started with the sudden temperature drop from 41 to 22 degrees celsius which caused the giant hailstones. Swimmers waded out of the water covering their heads. They shielded themselves under parasols and blow-up sun beds to stay clear of the giant hailstones.
