According to State weather bureau PAGASA, Typhoon Glenda was estimated based on all available data and PAGASA Virac Radar at 40 km Northeast of Catarman, Northern Samar or 130 km Southeast of Legazpi City, Albay (12.8°N, 125.1°E) at 12noon. Packing maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph, the cyclone is forecast to move West at 24 kph.

Typhoon Glenda is expected to make landfall in Albay on Tuesday night and hit Metro Manila and neighboring areas on Wednesday morning. By Thursday morning, it will be at 300 km West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur and by Friday morning, it is expected to be in the vicinity of Southern China.
