A video of Tommy, a Canadian teen together with his what seem to be Filipino friends, which was posted last 2009, is now again viral on social networking sites and has been receiving mixed comments from concerned netizens.
This two part video made by Tommy and his friends was about their tips on how to act around Filipinos. The first part is a YouTube video entitled “How to act around Filipinos – Part One” captioned “Tommy tells the story about his ‘awkward’ birthday party with his Filipino friends. In this video he will guide one to know how to be around a filipino.” The almost 9-minute video presently has more than 1 million views and received more than 5,000 comments. Although the video was originally uploaded November 25, 2009, 4 years ago, it went viral recently receiving more and more attention.
Likewise, the second video which was almost 10 minutes was uploaded on January 10, 2010. Apparently, this sequel of their video presently have more than 400,000 views and almost 2,000 comments.
Good for Tommy though, both video had disclaimers that read: “Warning! This video may offend some Filipinos around the world. Viewer discretion is advised. It is advised for viewers.”
