In an attempt to console Jollibee customers who are disappointed with the limited product offerings in some of their branches in Metro Manila and nearby areas, fellow fast food chain KFC Philippines answered “No such thing as #ChickenSad in the house of #SoGood”.
Jollibee is reportedly experiencing shortage on some of their branches and an official admitted that it’s mainly due to their “ongoing major systems upgrade” for their delivery service. The hashtag #ChickenSad became a trending topic in the social network landscape as customers shared their disappointments online.
Hours after Jollibee started replying to their customers over rants in Twitter, KFC tweets using the hashtag #ChickenSad to offer their own brand of chicken meal. A similar post was also posted on their official Facebook page carrying the same photo tempting all those who are #chickensad to just switch to KFC.
Jollibee’s ChickenJoy is known for its crispy texture and juicy chicken meat. KFC’s chicken meals, on the other hand, have a different flavor which is also enjoyed by its own patrons. But will this marketing move work for Jollibee customers?
