Do not expect She’s Dating the Gangster to be all light and fluffy. It has its share of dramatic highlights and it is bittersweet if I may say so.
I am not even a Kathniel fan to begin with but the two carry the film so effortlessly in terms of chemistry, in inducing kilig, and in tackling the emotional and serious points in the movie.
Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta only share limited screen time but their chemistry is magic and the scene they share together is really just heart-tugging. It got me teary-eyed. Probably because there is a reunion I am longing to happen in my life that’s not bound to happen in the not-so-distant future. *sobs
This movie has a solid story to tell, is a well-acted piece, and has the kilig that only director Cathy Garcia-Molina can execute and make the audience wallow in.
Memorable and capable of making me smile, curse, and hold back tears, She’s Dating the Gangster is a satisfying 9/10 in my book.
