Ramon Bautista’s ‘hipon’ remark drew rage from Davao City officials in the celebration of Kadayawan Festival. ‘Hipons’ are people who has a sexy body but a really ugly face or become pretty/handsome to some people just because they have a great body.
I respect the decision of the Davao officials, and I will abide by it.

Though Bautista already expressed his acceptance over the ‘Persona Non Grata’ decision of Davao via Twitter, netizens are still on mixed emotions over the issue. Some says that it is too shallow and Duterte may have overreacted and some others agree over the decision of Davao city officials. Take a look at some of the tweets both from netizens and celebrities:
Kahit anong mangyari, we love you papi @ramonbautista .. We are always here for you <3 — Sam Gogna (@sam_yg) August 19, 2014
Persona Non Grata because of a joke.. Too much. Too much. What are your opinions on this?
— Jasmine (@jascurtissmith) August 19, 2014
What kind of respect are you trying to beget by doing that? RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT. Ang joke. Joke lang. Pag naka offend at nag sorry matuto — Jasmine (@jascurtissmith) August 19, 2014
And to think a former politician did not have the decency to formally handle the “offensive” issue but instead take it to social media.. — Jasmine (@jascurtissmith) August 19, 2014
si Raffy Tulfo tinakot pa si Ramon Bautista ng DDS. wag na palakihin ang issue ng sorry na yung tao @ramonbautista @jascurtissmith — Kristiana Vivar (@XtianaBratinela) August 19, 2014

Bakit, marami namang hipon sa Davao — as there are vigilante politicians, dipped in garlic butter and seasoned with extrajudicial killings. — Mo Twister (@djmotwister) August 19, 2014
I think the Duterte’s should not meddle in Hipon Rights Violations, and just concentrate on what they’re good at, Human Rights Violations. — Mo Twister (@djmotwister) August 19, 2014
I’d like to be Persona Non Grata’d by a feared political family too, hence I declare this: Maraming hipon sa Cavite!
— Mo Twister (@djmotwister) August 19, 2014
Sana di na lang sila nag-invite ng comedian kung ayaw nila makarinig ng JOKE. It’s like inviting a magician pero ayaw naman pala maloko.

When party organizer Kat Dalisay ranted on Facebook due to “bureaucratic red tape,” #Davao City Council summoned her to a session. #hipon — Teng Mangansakan (@theprinceling) August 19, 2014
When funnyman Ramon Bautista made a bad joke, #Davao City Council declares him persona non grata. #hipon

I see a free speech issue here. It’s becoming a trend in #Davao. Kat Dalisay. Ramon Bautista. Who’s next? #hipon — Teng Mangansakan (@theprinceling) August 19, 2014

Ramon Baustista is a Comedian. I consider the “Hipon” issue an Irony. Kung may nahurt. Well, Truth hurts. — Spoderman (@MuhammadNanding) August 18, 2014
