A man considered to be a threat to national security was collared by the manhunt team of the Iloilo CIDT-CIDG, operatives of MIG-6, 301st Brigade, 3ID, MIB, 821B, and PRO-6 just this morning (4:30 AM, September 23, 2014) said Police Director Benjamin B. Magalong, CIDG Director.
In a written report submitted to Magalong by PSUPT Peter Naboye, Regional Chief of 6RCIDU, NORBERTO CASTOR @ MARLON @ GREG, an active member and said to be the Deputy Secretary of Central Front of Komiteng Rehiyonal Panay was apprehended in Barangay Calaboa, Leganes, Iloilo for Multiple Murder and Multiple Frustrated Murder with the use of explosives.
Magalong added that Castor eluded capture for 8 years by hiding in different places around Iloilo Ciy. The arrest was covered by a warrant ,which also include FRANCISCO BALOIS @ Ka Tonying, that was issued on March 10, 2006 by Judge Guilljie Delfin Lim of 6th Judicial Region RTC, Iloilo City.
Magalong also said the NPA rebel was listed in the Department of National Defense-DILG dated November 2012 with a reward of Php2.3 Million.
Castor, accompanied by his 20-year-old daughter, was brought to Iloilo CIDT for proper disposition.
On the other hand, the joint forces of the PNP and the AFP are continuously hunting down Balois who is allegedly hiding within the said area.
Relentless efforts are being undertaken by the Team CIDG and other PNP units along with the AFP to prevent crimes and capture lawless elements that could pose threat to public safety. (PNP IO)
