Ukraine – A very irate group of protesters threw a member of Verkhovna Rada or Parliament to a trash bin.
A video of the incident emerged on Tuesday, when the Ukrainian government of President Petro Poroshenko authorized a contract with the European Union. This was also the same day when the self-rule for two insubordinate regions in eastern Ukraine, as well as official pardon for pro-Russian rebels under war was proposed. The people among Ukraine’s nationalist were angered with the proposed ceasefire agreement.
Lawmaker Vitaly Zhuravsky, also a former member of ousted President Yanukovich’s group, was seized by the angry mob, splashed with water, pounded by a loose tire, before getting tossed in a garbage container, head first.
The group responsible for the incident seemed to be part of a larger group of protesters outside the Parliament. They demanded the adoption of ‘lustration’ also known as the act of eliminating corrupt officials from their position.
“Lustration!” , the people shouted.
Several reports say Zhuravsky was aimed at because of his participation in the passage of a bill earlier this year that controlled the public’s freedom of speech.
One protester yelled, “We live in a country where blood flows because of you”
According to BBC, the leader of the nationalist party, Svoboda, states, “A capitulation was announced today in this war.”
The 59-year-old deputy was later rescued by a group of military men. According to him, his competitors in the forthcoming parliamentary election were responsible to this shameful event.
