Today, a motorist and fellow netizen posted a photo of what seemed to be men pointing guns to a vehicle along Edsa, in broad daylight. The owner of the photo (who does not want to be named), captioned the viral photo as “People with Guns in EDSA”. According to her, the incident happened at around “2:45 pm, near Shell San Juan going to Ortigas”.
In a phone interview with Yahoo Philippines, she said, “I thought it was just traffic and I went a little bit out…I wasn’t sure what was happening but I went on ahead.” She also added that she’s too afraid to look, but was able to taking a quick snap at the scene before immediately taking off. She stressed that she’s not sure what happened. All she saw was there were men with guns and another man in a motorcycle who cornered a car.
Another netizen posted on social media claiming she saw men shooting at a car and grabbing the people inside the vehicle with guns pointing at their heads.
A Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Metrobase officer stated in a separate interview that their office received reports that a closed van bumped with a Hi-Ace van between Edsa-Ortigas and Santolan. Their local traffic enforcers were sent to help in the incident.
The Mandaluyong Traffic Operations Center said they did not find anything at the site when they got there.
According to the National Bureau of Investigation officer, it could have been an office operation but still, they are taking further investigations.
Meanwhile, the owner of the photo seemed to have deactivated her Twitter account,
