Set for release on January 9, 2015, Taken’s 3rd sequel promises the same formula that got its fans hooked: more jumping out of the windows, phone threats, car chases, explosions, gun toting, and plenty of ass-kicking.
In the latest instalment of the movie, former CIA operative Bryan Mills, played by Liam Neeson, runs away after being framed for the murder of his ex-wife. With his trademark skills, Mills is able to escape the persistent pursuit of FBI, CIA, and the Los Angeles police department, identify the real killers, and protect the only person left in his life, his daughter.
Earlier, Neeson dispelled rumours of another sequel after Taken 2.
In a previous radio interview in Dublin he said:
“I don’t think there’ll be a ‘Taken 3. [My daughter] can’t get taken again. That’s just bad parenting.”
But now, the last instalment of the film series is finally happening. Taken 3 stylised as “Tak3n” is directed by Olivier Megaton and written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. Aside from Neeson, the English language French action movie also stars Forest Whitaker, Famke Janssen, and Maggie Grace.
