Security guards are the front-liners who secure various business establishments from wrong-doers. So, more often than not, they get the brunt of hate from the people who want to perpetuate evil or try to rob from a store they are guarding.
However, in a video that has gone viral on social media, the abusers were shockingly little kids – not adults!
RachFeed shared the Facebook status of a certain Lyka Gonzalez who saw the event firsthand. She was able to snap a video of the incident, with the clip going viral in a matter of hours.
According to Gonzalez, the security guard at SM North EDSA stopped the kids from preying on the mallgoers. They were asking alms at the mall’s entrance sometime around 9 PM.
The reprimand angered the kids who began hurtling invectives at the guard while mocking him with their laughter. A girl in pink seemed to be the leader of the group because she was the one who really went close to the guard to mock him loudly.
The kids also began throwing stuff at the guard, with a large metallic object even hitting him at the back of his head! The kids laughed very hard when they hit the “bullseye” but the guard was quite calm while he endured the abuse.
Not one of the mallgoers tried to help – and the guard’s companion did not help him, too.
Perhaps because he was dealing with kids, the guard kept his cool. Even when he was already hit, he never tried to shout at the kids or use force to disperse them. Props to the guard for his outstanding patience.
Now, according to Social Trends PH, many of those who commented on the Facebook post were angry at the DSWD for not doing something to control these streetkids, who were often solvent kids, too!
However, RachFeed believes it should be the parents who should be blamed for the way these kids turned out – where are they, anyway? These kids should not be allowed to roam the streets, especially at night!
Whoever this guard is, kudos for the patient response – you deserve a citation for staying steadfast despite the persistent abuse from the kids.
