Have you ever noticed the 9:41 AM time almost always used (previously it was 9:42 AM) on the iPhones in Apple ads and announcements?

Well, it actually holds a lot of significance – not just an indication that Apple merely wants to do things in a uniform manner.
You see, way back in January 2007, Steve Jobs first unveiled the iPhone at 9:42 AM. The time became Apple’s “standard time”, so that every product revealed after then is set at 9:42 AM.

In 2010, the time changed to 9:41 AM when the iPad was unveiled. Since then, the rest of the new reveals used the 9:41 AM time.
Even the MacBook Air’s time is set at 9:41 AM.
So, does that mean that every new tech product displaying time on its screen gets to change Apple’s standard time?
Let’s see…

In September 2014, Apple unveiled the Apple watch along with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The phones displayed the standard 9:41 AM time – but, lo and behold! The Apple watch showed 10:09 AM!

Apparently, no! In October, the company revealed the iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 2 – both displayed 9:41 AM.
