He was the dictator of the Soviet Union from the mid-1920’s until his death in 1953. 5 million people were starved to death because he took 90% of food under his government. The great purge saw enemies tortured into public confessions before they were executed.
1. Mao Zedong – China / 45-75 million estimated deaths
He was a Chinese Communist revolutionary and the founding father of the People’s Republic of China. People who were too old were prohibited from canteens and were left to starve. What’s worse is that parents of children caught stealing food were forced to bury their offspring alive.
