Chile – Angelica Navarro Pereira was arrested for using a huge marijuana plant as her Christmas furniture for the holidays.
Neighbor Renato Quinonez Alfaro said the 50-year-old mom was bragging about her ‘best Christmas tree in the world’ to all the neighbors.
He later said, “Thinking about it, she didn’t invite me in to see her tree,” adding that when they spoke, Pereira said her children “were going to really enjoy Christmas this year and that she had the best tree in the world.”
Alfaro realized he doesn’t remember Pereira taking a Christmas tree in. “Now I know why,” he said.
The suspect was detained with 21 cannabis plants, 29 bags of drugs, 2 homemade shotguns, and £2,500.
According to the police, the ‘tree’ she was bragging about was surrounded by wrapped-up presents when they found it in her home in San Bernardo in the province of Maipo.
“The place was full of drugs. We had been investigating this woman for over a month. We suspected she was involved in trafficking and when we had enough proof we carried out our raid.We expected to find some drugs, but the last thing we expected to see was one of the plants being used as a Christmas tree,” said the police spokesman.
