Typhoon Ruby began as a strong storm, first believed to be stronger or similar to last year’s supertyphoon Yolanda but has proved to be weaker though it moves a lot slower and brings along heavy to torrential rains.
Thus, despite being weaker than Yolanda, Ruby was able to bring significant damage to many areas its 700-km diameter hit.
The typhoon is also expected to make 6 landfalls and is now being dubbed as the longest staying storm as it continues to move at a speed of around 15 km/h.
