Typhoon Ruby is on its way out of the country yet another typhoon could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by weekend or early next week.
According to PAGASA officer-in-charge Landrico Dalida Jr., the typhoon could easily take the path of Ruby or could move northward and hit Luzon. Whatever path the typhoon might take, it would not be good for the areas concerned, especially now that Christmas is fast approaching.
Dalida said they are still monitoring the weather disturbance but there is no need for panic, especially because a lot of things could happen and this system could still dissolve.
If it becomes a low pressure area, it will take the name of Señang once it enters PAR.
Now, if the typhoon takes the path of Ruby, it will also affect the areas which were hit by super typhoon Yolanda last year; areas which are still struggling hard to recover.
Many are still living in the tent cities and temporary bunkhouses along the Yolanda corridor. These temporary shelters were heavily damaged by Ruby. If the coming typhoon will hit them, the residents would have nowhere to go.
Two more typhoons
We had just survived a major typhoon which had the potential of becoming a destructive super typhoon. In fact, forecasters showed different data on this one, with one major weather forecaster labeling Ruby as supertyphoon for a couple of days.
Even though Ruby has weakened and going out the country, PAGASA said the public should brace for two more typhoons coming before the year ends.
Everyone is hoping, however, that PAGASA will be wrong on this one and that no more typhoon will hit the country in the near future, especially during the Christmas holidays.
