When Victor Van Rossem logged onto his Facebook account two years ago, he found out a man from Austin, Texas named Neal D Retke through Facebook suggestion.
Only the film student knew the reason why of all people he chose to meet Neal, a bearded man who lived 5,000 miles away from his hometown in Ghent, Belgium.
Maybe he got intrigued with his look.
Whatever his reason was, Victor decided to jump on a plane and find him despite the fact that all he knew is that Neal live somewhere in Austin.
He also created a short film documenting his search for Neal.
And printed out pictures of the guy to post all over the city, hoping someone would help him find the bearded man.
Victor went to the bookstore where Neal had taken his picture. Puzzled, the staff informed them that the man he was looking for was a regular customer. He also told the student filmmaker that there will be an upcoming event where Neal would probably be attending.
So, they showed up at the event and found their man!
The documentary shows how Victor and Retke traveled together around Austin and built a real friendship.
