A little act of kindness goes a long way.
A story of a starving woman who ate leftover food at Jollibee proved that this saying is actually true even in this era where materialism rampantly exists.
Netizen Mimi Lizada Bhatti shared the incredible story of kindness that happened in a Jollibee store in Bacolod City in her Facebook account.
While she was eating her meal, Bhatti noticed a woman approaching one of the staff inside the fast food chain. Bhatti assumed that the woman asked for the crew’s permission to eat the leftover food in the table. The staff left the table while the woman ate the small piece of chicken left.
Moments later, Bhatti saw the Jollibee staff approaching the woman this time with the manager and security guard of the branch. Initially, Bhatti thought they were going to make the woman leave the store. This apparently drove the woman to leave the fast food restaurant immediately.
Luckily, the crew was able to follow the woman and ask her to return.
To the woman surprise’s, there was a one-piece chicken meal for her on the table. The manager actually covered the meal.
Moved by the act of kindness, Bhatti asked the waiter to giver he burger to the woman.
As of press time, Bhatti’s post has over 25,000 likes and more than 2,500 shares on Facebook.
This kind of story actually makes me believe that there is hope for humanity.
Don’t forget to share this story of with your friends.
A sadder sight was when I saw someone picking through Jollibee’s garbage looking for leftover food. They took a bunch of chicken bones. I was too young to extend any help, but I’m glad to know that this manager/crew offered some more food to this woman. As an adult, I saw 2 street children being shooed out by a security guard at McDonalds in Quezon City. My fiance and I asked him not to do that and bought meals for the kids. Another experience brought me to tears when a street child asked me for 4 pesos outside of a McDonalds in Greenhills while I was sitting in my car. I gave it to him and later saw him eating a scoop of rice and chicken gravy apparently bought in McDonalds.
