He immediately fell in love with her gorgeous face, flawless complexion, and large eyes; so, love-struck Chinese guy Huang spent thousands and traveled thousands of miles just so he could finally meet his online girlfriend, Xiaojin.
Huang was shocked upon arriving in Suzhou where Xiaojin lives. She looked so different from the photos she posted online that he could barely recognize her. It appears that everything in her photos was altered.
Her large eyes were actually just “regular” Chinese eyes while her flawless face was actually red and ridden with pock marks from acne, reports STOMP. Instead of the slim girl he would see in her accounts on social media, she was much larger and wider in real life!
“You can’t be [Xiaojin’s real name] right? How can there be such a huge difference?” he screamed at her.
“It’s me. It’s just that the photo had been edited and I was wearing makeup. This is my bare face,” replied Xiaojin.
Despite her explanations, Huang felt cheated. He had just spent thousands so he could meet the gorgeous woman of his dreams yet she actually looks just like any other Chinese girl. She was not the goddess she so easily portrayed while they communicated on WeChat!
The heated argument soon escalated into a physical fight as Huang was now outraged as Xiaojin continued to offer her explanations. It came to a point when he beat her up so hard that she was later brought to the hospital for treatment.
Because they were fighting in public, other people soon interfered and they were brought to the police station. There, they settled the matter amicably but Huang swore he would never believe in online romance again. He flew back to Harbin, his hometown, on that same day.
