How hard is it to find a girlfriend on your own, really? Well, I am not a guy so I can’t answer that question but for one guy in Singapore, it was so difficult to find a girlfriend that he was willing to pay a fee of $50 (P2,200) to $150 (P6,600) just so someone could be his part-time girlfriend!
According to STOMP Singapore, one of their stompers shared a photo he found on Gumtree, a classifieds website. Chen posted a screenshot of the ad, including the complete details of what the girlfriend is supposed to do.
You’ll be surprised that it does not involve something beyond shopping for clothes and shoes as well as going to the movies. The guy said the “relationship” could be for a short time only or they can go for the long haul.
In return for playing his part-time girlfriend, she gets anywhere from $50 to $150 per day which he would pay in cash on a daily basis.
Ads like these are quite scary. What if someone really replied to the guy because he offered money for someone to pose as his girlfriend? What if a girl was desperate enough to take the offer because it sounded too good to be true?
Of course, there is no telling what the guy would actually if a girl takes his $50-to-$150-bait. He could sound really nice on the ad but terrible in person. And he might not even take the girl to the movies or go shopping with her. He could harm her and do terrible things – she could end up in the news the following day!
Scary! The disturbing post has been taken down, reports STOMP, but its implications are truly troubling. This is also a reminder for parents to always warn their children, especially teenagers, about the dangers of meeting up with strangers.
