This N. Korean camp survivor saw daily executions, mass starvation, and mothers killing their children to survive

After 28 years of suffering inside the Pyongyang prison in North Korea, Kim Hye-Sook is urging the United Nations to bring action against the communist country for the humans rights abuses.

Kim, who was able to escape prison in 2009 detailed how they were subjected to brutality, hard labor, and starvation.

During “The Human Rights Situation in North Korea” panel discussion held at UN Headquarters in New York on Wednesday, October 23, Kim revealed they could barely eat one meal in a day. They even resorted to eating grass in the mountain.

She then made a horrific revelation: “There was a woman even killing babies to eat.”

The North Korean defector, who has been giving speeches about her ordeal inside the camp since her escape, leads an activist group that gives the world a glimpse of what is really happening inside the North Korean prison.

In an interview with CBS News this year, she revealed some gruesome scenes inside the prison:

“One time a mother put her 9-year-old daughter in this big cast iron pot and boiled her. She was a too big for the pot so the mother had to chop her legs and head to fit the body in the pot.”

Kim explained that it was difficult for her to talk about those details but she wants the world “to see these images”.

Earlier, Japan and the European Union proposed a resolution that will order the UN Security Council to refer the recluse country’s crimes against humanity to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
