The recently concluded 2015 Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night held on Sunday, March 15 at the SMART Araneta Colisuem became the most highly-talked event of the week.
Former Kapamilya actress Pia Wurtzbach took home the biggest crown that night and will be representing the country to the Miss Universe Pageant this year, the world’s most prestigious beauty competition. Meanwhile, the following ladies were also named winners of the night: Janicel Lubina (Bb Pilipinas International), Rogelie Catacutan (Bb Pilipinas Supranational), Christi Lynn McGarry (Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental), and Ann Lorraine Colis (Bb Pilipinas Tourism).

On Toni Gonzaga’s Hosting Style
Pageant host Toni Gonzaga received mixed reaction over her unique hosting style during the pageant. Popularly known as the host of Kapamilya shows Pinoy Big Brother and The Voice Philippines, the TV host-actress’ statements during the Q & A portion of the beauty competition earned her bashers and defenders in the blogosphere.
Former Binibining Pilipinas title-holder Nina Ricci Alagao pointed out that Gonzaga became overconfident and gave inappropriate remarks to contestants during the pageant.
Later on, Alagao apologised for her comment about Gonzaga, but maintained her stand.
While several netizens agreed with Alagao’s observation, others defended Gonzaga.
On Wynwyn Marquez Losing the Pageant
One of the trending topics that emerged on Twitter after the Binibining Pilipinas 2015 pageant was the term “WynWyn” referring to crowd’s favourite Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez.
Many netizens believe that Marquez, Kapuso celebrity and daughter of celebrities Joey Marquez and Alma Moreno, should have won the competition.
Although, Moreno didn’t make it to the Top 5 of the competition, she took home special awards including Bb Talent, Best in national costume, and She’s so JAG 2015.
On Ariella Arida’s English Skills
Meanwhile, the 2013 Miss Universe Philippines and 2013 Miss Universe 3rd runner-up Ariella Arida drew negative comments from netizens for her hosting performance.
Although many netizens mocked her accent, Arida proved to be a good sport and apologised to her bashers.
