MANILA, Philippines- Smartphone giant Samsung has finally unveiled the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones during the Unpacked 2015 event at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona held on Sunday, March 1 (Monday, Manila Time).
Set to be available across the world by April 10, both S6 and S6 edge are made of entirely glass and metal. The new smartphone models have revolutionised the look of previous Samsung products which mainly used plastics.
In terms of design, S6 has a flat display, a metal frame, and front and back panels made of glass. It comes in 32 GB, 64GB, and128GB models and will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Blue Topaz.
Meanwhile, the S6 Edge which looks far more interesting has all of S6’s features but has a distinctive feature: it turns curve to the sides of its front and rear glass.

- 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED displays
- 3GB of RAM; 32, 64, or 128GB of internal storage
- 16-megapixel cameras with optical image stabilization
- Fingerprint sensor in the home button
- Integrated support for both Qi and PMA wireless charging
- Quick USB charging which is said to be 1.5 times faster than the Galaxy S5
- More powerful speaker which is 1.5 times louder than the S5’s
- Integrated support for Samsung Pay
In the Philippines, Samsung showcased the new Samsung smartphones to the members of the media, tech bloggers and Smart Communications at Samsung Philippines Unpacked 2015 event in Solaire.
