The Philippines is an archipelago, so it is perfectly understandable that you haven’t heard of these fruits and tried them but we’re sharing these with you nonetheless.

Sapinit

With an English name of “Philippine wild raspberry”, sapinit is a great fruit to try! Just like its name suggests, this fruit can be found in the wild – in fact, it was only discovered at Mt. Banahaw in 2009 by OFW Dionisio Pullan.

This fruit was later processed into juice, wine, and jam as an added source of livelihood for the locals.

  1. Sapinit is already been sold long time ago (prior to 2009 you’ve mentioned it was been discovered) outside the elementary schools in San Pablo City.

    Locals there are selling these wild raspberry in very small plastic bags with salt.
