People put their money in banks in order to secure their savings, right? However, a BDO client recently lost money from her ATM savings account mysteriously.
A screen-capped photo from BDO mobile banking showing the withdrawal transaction of a client named Christine was posted on Facebook last April 20 2015. Its caption stated that withdrawal transactions of P 3,000 and P 10,000 were completed at BDO Bonifacio Global City last April 10, 2015. She never checked her account in the previous days since she trusted that her account was secured with BDO. She also mentioned that it was impossible since she was just working in SM Calamba when the withdrawal transaction happened. Thinking that the transactions would not have been possible, she immediate called BDO to confirm what she just found out. Unfortunately, the withdrawal transactions did happen as confirmed by the representative she talked to. She then filed an unauthorized withdrawal report. While she was assured by the representative that the incident will be investigated, Christine is already hopeless that BDO will take action of the incident.
On a final note, Christine warned BDO ATM account holders about how nothing is safe and secure anymore even if you take utmost care. She has always been careful not to withdraw money outside the mall where she worked and yet, she still lost the money she saved that was supposed to be allotted for her house mortgage.
We are currently waiting for BDO’s statement regarding the matter. As for everyone who holds a savings account, it’s still best to be vigilant of what is happening to your money no matter how established or safe your bank may seem.
