For several days, a five-year-old unnamed girl believed to be from Northern Vietnam spent great efforts just to find her missing dog “Flower”.
Apparently, her pet dog who has been with her for three years wandered off and went missing.
Sadly, days after her search for her beloved pet, the little girl recognized her missing dog who was already displayed at local dog meat stall. It was a nightmare for the youngster who found “Flower” already fully roasted.
According to People’s Daily Online, the girl allegedly rushed to her dog and cried: “That’s Flower!”
A photo of the girl crouched beside her dead dog crying went viral and captured the hearts of thousands of netizens who appealed for the ban of consumption of dog meat.
Dog Meat: A Delicacy in Many Asian Countries
As savage as it may seem for most people particularly for dog lovers, there are still many countries including Vietnam, China, Korea, and Switzerland which considers dog meat a delicacy.
Many people especially those from Western countries oppose the consumption of dog meat since they consider these animals as man’s best friend. Several organisations including The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) are rallying against the consumption of dog meat in the country.
