Do you know anyone who is a homophobic? With the rise in number of people coming out, more and more people as well are expressing their hatred and fear against gay people. Also, the social media is another venue where people usually express these negative feelings for homosexuals.
Just recently, there was a report about a Harvard study stating that all homophobic people are actually gay. In the said report, there was a double-blind study conducted in the course of 5 years that involved nearly 5,000 people. It even quoted the American Psychological Association saying that the study is “scientifically irrefutable.”
The said study was done using a Penis Responsiveness Technology (PRT) and Brainwave Function Reading (BFR) from leading scientists from the Biomimetic Robotics Lab at Massachussetts Institute of Technology (MIT). With the said methodologies, they found out that people who expressed dislike with the LGBT community were actually found to be “aroused” whenever they are shown intimate images of homosexuals.
According to the study, “a direct, positive correlation between the degree of homophobia expressed in a subject’s survey and the decreased time it took the individual to reach full arousal.” So, is it really true?
We tried to search for the study in Harvard’s Center for Brain Science website and found that the study does not exist.
Homophobia can be associated with sexual arousal.
However, a study published by the Department of Psychology, University of Georgia, Athens revealed that there is an increase in penile circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos for both the homophobic and non-homophobic group of men.
However, only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli, which means that when homophobic men are shown videos that feature man to man action, they are still “aroused” even if they are unaware of it or deny it.
So, are all homophobic people gay? Based on the study, they still can be aroused. But as to their level of homosexuality and the reason why they were aroused?
It would be best if there would be more studies to prove that they really are also homosexuals. So, before you go “homophobic” when you see gay people, try to evaluate yourself and find out why you have these intense negative feelings for them.
