You have probably heard about #BendGate and #hairgate (iPhone issues) as well as other related problems regarding new era smartphones. Well, though we certainly did not encounter those problems in the past with old-school phones, it is a reality with today’s slimmer, more fragile mobile devices.
For that reason, we do not advise you to place your smartphones in your pockets for that could only mean its demise! Imagine just how crazy it would feel if your highly expensive phone ends up with a broken LCD or damaged internal parts because it broke in your pocket! How terrible that would surely be…
But this issue does not just stop with your phone’s death because placing phones inside your pocket can also be deadly to you! Hmmm. How is that possible?
We’re not talking here about your phone breaking and impaling you – though there is a chance that could happen during an accident. What we mean is the long-term damage caused by the electromagnetic waves the phone emits and receives. Yep. We’re talking Science here but please don’t stop reading yet. This could save your life.
According to the vice president of the organization “League of the nation’s health”, Nikolai Kononov, extended use of cellphones can be dangerous to the central nervous system (CNS). That’s quite alarming, of course, because the CNS controls everything in our bodies!
However, aside from the CNS, cellphone radiation can also affect other systems.
The primarily target is the nervous system, but the endocrine and reproductive system are also targets. – Nikolai Kononov
Now, the effects of prolonged cellphone use are not easily detected; thus, many of us are confident that these useful gadgets do not have harmful effects on the body. However, scientific studies have shown that electromagnetic fields, including from cellphones, can cause various medical conditions, such as hormonal disorders, leukemia, brain cancer, and development of degenerative processes of the CNS.
Expectant mothers are especially susceptible to radiation and must try to limit cellphone usage as much as possible, especially during the late stages of pregnancy.
What Can We Do?
We can’t ditch cellphones now, can we? These tiny objects have become an integral part of our lives. But don’t worry. We do not recommend you throwing away those gadgets now. Instead, try to limit your usage to what is reasonable.
Do not place them in your pockets but try to keep them as far away from your body as humanly possible. Why not place them inside your bag when not in use?
Also, limit calls to a minute or two.
“It’s better to have 5 conversations lasting 1 minute, than having 1 conversation lasting 5 minutes.” – Experts from “League of the nation’s health”
You should also make sure there is an interval of 15 minutes in between calls.
Yes, cellphones do not kill in a quick manner yet extended use can be deadly, too! So, for your own safety, do not keep your phones in your pocket.
