Cruelty to animals is considered an atrocious act by many and is stringently against the law. Onlookers who have watched the video of a dog being whipped by a ruthless man were enraged by what they have seen. The man was seen on the video holding a wooden rod which was used to smash the helpless dog chained in front of a house in Paco, Manila.
It was reported to the Barangay office right away as stated by the Barangay 819 secretary Michelle Maulas. The concerned citizen who took the video believed that the poor dog was slaughtered. The Barangay officials have yet to release their statement regarding the validity of the video uploader’s claim.
“Talagang labag yan sa Animal Welfare Act at ito ay punishable with six months up to two years imprisonment and kung napatay nga yung aso may fine na up to p100,000,” said PAWS executive director Ana Cabrera in an interview conducted by ABS-CBN News.
