Mother’s day is fast approaching. Have you planned something to make the day extra special for the first woman your her life?
American celebrity Ashton Kutcher decided to give his mom Diane Finnegan Kutcher the sweetest surprise. Known for pulling off awesome pranks in the MTV hit show “Punk’d”, Ashton made sure that his surprise will be executed well with the help of his stepdad Mark Portwood and Houzz, an online design site.
Because he wanted the surprise to be meaningful, the “Two and a Half Men” star opted to have the his childhood home renovated. The house located in Homestead, Iowa was built by Mark and Ashton when he was just 13.
In order to keep the surprise from Diane, the 37-year-old actor and his fiancé Mila Kunis asked her to stay in their house in California. For 27 days, Diane bonded with her grandchild Wyatt, while everyone else did the magic in her home in Iowa.
“I went to visit Ashton and the new baby, and they decided they needed me to stay out there for a little while to help,” Diane said.
“And I come, and this is what I find. It does mean a lot to me, it’s beautiful.”
Of course the renovation, particularly the transformation of the basement which now channels a contemporary rustic vibe, sent Diane to tears.
“This is amazing. I don’t know how they did it!” Diane said in the video.
For Kutcher, remodeling his mom’s place is his way of thanking his mom.
“Really at the end of the day, it’s my way of saying thank you to my mom. My mom has been my greatest influence in my life and anything I can do to say thank you is the right thing to do,” said Ashton.
