Have you seen the Pac-Wan?
Just in time with the excitement of everyone for the Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight on May 2 (May 3, Philippine time) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, an Albay chef comes up with a cooler way to join in with the fever of the Fight of the Century.
The viral watermelon, known as “Pac-Wan,” was carved by Albay-based Chef Jasmine Grageda. According to a report, Chef Jasmine and her family are avid fans of Manny Pacquiao, and the epic carving is just a small way for them to show how much they love and support PacMan.
In an interview, Chef Jasmine shares that the most challenging part of her craft of Manny Pacquiao’s face in the watermelon was carving the smallest details of the boxing champ’s face, such as the eyes and the eyebrows. With all efforts mustered up and with her undeniably talented hands, Pac-Wan was realized and is now making name in the social media.
The Pac-Wan is now on display at the Rose G. Bicol Fusion Cuisine restaurant located along R. Grageda St. in Camalig, Albay.
