A 39-year-old children’s pastor from Arkansas is facing charges after his wife discovered photos and videos of “nude or scantily clad” pubescent girls in his laptop.
According to the police, Pastor Tony Waller’s wife Angela found over “tens of thousands” of compromising photos and videos of underage girls. Angela surrendered the laptop and two hard drives to the police after Waller turned it over to her.
Angela claimed she accidentally saw the disturbing images while searching for a file in a laptop he shared with her. When Angela confronted Waller, the children’s pastor confessed his addiction to child pornography for more than 20 years.
Detective Brandon King, the investigator handling Waller’s case, said it will take several months to go through all the files. He commended Angela for reporting the incident.
Meanwhile, Jonesboro First Assembly of God’s Senior Pastor Matt Smith told KAIT that Waller was dismissed from the church after hearing about the allegations.
“First of all to the best of our understanding, the allegations against Mr. Waller don’t involve anything with our church as far as we know,” Smith told the press.
Based on the church’s website, Waller has worked with Jonesboro First Assembly of God since 1999.
Waller was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 29.
