Come June, most students across the country will be going back to school. As early as the month of May, parents are already preparing everything their children need, which includes their uniforms, school supplies, tuition fee, and of course, their textbooks. Investing in your child’s future can be pricey, but just how expensive is it supposed to be?
A photo of a list of textbooks for Grade I students is making its way around social media. In a report from Coconuts Manila, the photo, which was uploaded by a Facebook user, showed the list of 10 textbooks with a total price of P 7,906. It is believed to be a requirement for Grade I students in a private school in Antipolo.
The caption of the status said, “I’m going to tag my favorite Pinoy authors and writers here. Ganito po ba talaga ang tamang pag-presyo ng libro? Take note…PANG FIRST GRADE!”
Another mother who will also be sending her daughter to Grade I in a private school in Dasmarinas, Cavite shared how much she paid for nine textbooks. She was given only a list of subjects and was asked to pay P 4,500 without a receipt.
