Spiky, Devil-worshipping Haircuts, and Other Effeminized Male Fashion Trends Now Banned Iran

TEHRAN, Iran — The Iran Union has declared the banning of spiky, jagged, devil-worshipping haircuts, tattooing, and other “effeminized” male fashion trends like eyebrow-plucking and sun-tanning.

The Middle East Eye reports that licenses will be revoked from barber shops that would violate this rule.

The spiky, “devil-worshipping” haircuts has been a popular trend among the Iranian youth in the recent years. However, these trendy hairstyles are considered unorthodoxed and un-Islamic. They are said to imply devil-worship.

Mostafa Gohavi, head of Iran’s barber union stated that barbershops who offer to customers these kinds of hairstyles will be dealt with accordingly. Barber shops who promote this hairstyle are considered to be violating the Islamic system’s regulations.

Devil-worshipping hairstyles are now forbidden.

According to RT News, the ministry of culture has even published a catalog of approved hairstyles for men in 2010. Aside from these spiky haircuts, ponytails and mullets are also not allowed in the country, and using hair gel is only allowed in modest amounts.
