On May 17, 2015, a video showing a boy handcuffed to a handrail went viral. It was uploaded by Kupal Lord on his Facebook page and has earned more than 78,000 views and over 800 shares as of this writing.
According to the uploader, a drugstore security guard caught the minor stealing supplies from their establishment’s delivery truck. As a repercussion for his crime, the guard handcuffed him to a handrail and hit him. The young thief responded to this by cursing and saying that he was going to tell his mom. This irked an onlooker who also threw a few punches until bystander stepped in to stop the beating.
Some comments made on Kupal Lord’s FB account expressed satisfaction with what they saw in the video. Others said that was not enough, not even close. While there were comments that they shouldn’t have struck the kid and should have just turned him over to the police, many still felt that the actions of the guard and the onlooker were justified, given that as a minor, the offender would have just been sent home eventually.
