By now, everyone knows that Filipino shadow dance group El Gamma Penumbra won as the first ever grand champions on Asia’s Got Talent! As Filipinos, we are surely proud of what the group has accomplished, even at the face of adversity and the fact that they did not win in the talent shows at their home country.
But let’s forget about them not winning in local talent shows because they won AGT! Congratulations, El Gamma Penumbra! You make us all proud to be Filipinos!
How About the Prize?
For winning the pan-region talent show, the group received $100,000 (Php4.4 million) – that’s another reason to celebrate for sure.
But the question in everyone’s minds is this: how is the group going to spend their winnings?
Well, it is best to presume that each of the members of the group will receive a cut of the winnings; that is to be expected.
But did you know that they are also setting aside some of the money for the charity they had long been supporting? Incredible, isn’t it? These guys truly deserved their big win! Though reports have not named the charity who would receive part of the winnings from El Gamma Penumbra, the rest of the Filipino community would like to give the group another big round of applause for their excellent performances at the AGT and their kindheartedness in sharing with the less fortunate even now that they have become famous worldwide.
