Netizens express their outrage over a woman putting a cigarette in a baby’s mouth

Only days after the photo of a woman treating her child like a dog (see post here) surfaced, another set of photos have appeared on social media, this time these were of a woman putting a cigarette in a baby’s mouth. A Facebook user with the name Erhdz Dela Cruz uploaded the photos on her account, which has seemingly been deactivated already. Uploaded under an album “Yosi fah m0re….” [Smoke more], the pictures were posted on February 21, 2015, but have only recently gone viral. Even though the pictures were posted a few months ago (and presumably have now been deleted), this may still be a child abuse case for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Facebook user Maria Luisa San Andres posted the photos calling DSWD to again take action.

This incident is a clear case of child abuse and the perpetrator is liable under the Violence against Women and Children Act and under Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law.
