For just under P3,000, you can buy all the documents you need to be an instant nurse and fake your way to a better-paying career—at least, this may be in the case of Victorino Chua.
Filipino citizen Victorino Chua was a nurse accused and found guilty of murdering and poisoning patients at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, Greater Manchester. Chua killed patients Tracey Arden, 44, and Derek Weaver, 83, at the hospital in Stockport by injecting insulin into saline bags and ampoules. Other nurses, unaware of Chua’s tampering, used the bags causing a series of insulin overdoses to mainly elderly victims. After a 3-month trial, Chua was found guilty of the crimes and was sentenced to at least 35 years life imprisonment.
Described as a narcissistic psychopath, Chua’ qualifications on being a nurse were questioned during the investigation, thereby exposing his fake credentials.
Dailymail writer Stephen Wright, through the help of one of his photographer colleagues, exposed in his article the rampant trade in bogus exam certificates in Manila just recently. In his posted video to his trip to Recto Avenue in Manila, he discovered that for £43, he was able to get all documents required to work abroad including a fake identification card, degree certificate, and even a graduation photo. Wright reveals, “On Recto Avenue in downtown Manila are stalls openly offering fake nursing degrees, education records, diploma pictures, police clearance to work overseas, passports, driving licences and birth and marriage certificates. Police turn a blind eye in return for bribes.” Wright became an instant nurse in less than a day.
Wright states while many Filipino nurses are truly qualified to work in the UK and have authentic documents, “many in this impoverished nation struggle to find the money to finish their degree courses and are tempted to buy their qualifications they need to obtain work in the UK where salaries are vastly higher.” The legit applicants, therefore, are placed in doubt at Greater Manchester’s Nursing and Midwifery Council, which, despite their action in 2013 to temporarily freeze recruitment on foreign nurses who are feared to be using fake documents, continue to recruit nurses from the Philippines. Stamped documents seemed to be proof enough to some hospitals, which may be in the case of Chua’s employment.
Wright was praised for his exposé with the police calling his investigation “invaluable” as he passed on concerns about Chua’s bona fides and the trade in nursing qualifications in the Philippines.

Well I think that is bad because you cannot cure anyone without any full knowledge about Nursing (same also with other profession). However, what I can say is that people tend to take this opportunity just to have a good job. I was talking about the faking the school where they came from.
Most of the companies are hiring people who have been in prestigious schools, and that is so st*pid. Graduates of unpopular school/universities do not have the chance to compete because of this issue. Why would they hire someone who have graduated in prestigious schools? For what? The name? I do not think that will be a requirement in work. The skills is the most important thing they need to look on when hiring employees.
Some of the graduates of unpopular schools have the brain and skills to do things too, beyond others. They are just unfortunate to be in an economically-challenged life to study in expensive schools, so we cannot blame why others tend to fake their documents. Because no matter waht they do, they cannot find a good job because of the said issue. Mr. Wright, you missed this point why there are stalls who offer fake documents.
On the other side of the story, this is also alarming. What if we met someone we thought are professionals. A nurse which can kill us anytime because they lack the knowledge about Nursing.
Even if you obtained all that fake requirements it will bring you nowhere . He should have done the next step .. Which is applying for a job .. Because he has to undergo interviews from professional experienced senior nurses themselves … I am a nurse from the Philippines., I had panel interviews and knowledge presentation just to pass the US and UK qualifications and get this nursing job., .. If he doesn’t have the knowledge…. I don’t think he will pass … Because passing a 45 minute panel interview is not easy to pass .. Unless you are a genuine licensed nurse .

In case you pass with all those fake requirements and let’s say you are so smart to pass the nursing interview .. You will be subject to a 6 months probationary period and work with nursing mentors ., could not medicate and care to patients on your own but shadowed by a foreign experienced qualifies nurses .. I think that will be enough to prove that you are dumb and fake pretending nurse and they will still kick you out before that six month end .. So , as I said , it will take you nowhere.
