A somewhat amusing warning for PLDT subscribers was posted on the UAAP Cheerdance Competition’s Facebook page. The warning didn’t have anything to do with the company’s internet speed or phone services. Rather, it pointed to PLDT’s Fam Cam as the source of a couple’s relationship troubles.
The Fam Cam is essentially a home monitoring camera that transmits live footage to mobile devices, using a PLDT Home DSL connection. The company promotes the product as ” the secret behind some celebrity parents’ absolute peace of mind while outside of their homes, even if it means leaving the little kids inside the comfort of their abodes.” But in this case, the parents’ peace of mind may have been completely annihilated.

Di rin nya alam na meron ng ganun Nalaman na lang nya nung binato sa kanya ng mama nya yung device.

[The next day was our monthsary. As it turned out, there was no one at their house. Everything was already planned. After the mall, we headed straight to their house to do ‘it.’ I was excited, of course, because it only happens once a month during our monthsary.
So when we arrived at her place, it was like a porn scene. I couldn’t stop myself. We still had our shoes on, we hadn’t even put our bags and shopping bags down when I started to kiss her.
It went on until were both naked and until we reached her room. The bottom line is, we had a happy ending. A very happy ending. We love each other, after all.
The next, she called me up crying. We were busted, her parents had found out. And they saw us. It turns out, THERE WAS A F*CKING FAMCAM IN THEIR LIVING ROOM. HOW THE HELL WAS I SUPPOSED TO NOTICE SINCE I WAS SO EXCITED.
She didn’t know either that the cam had been installed. She only found out when her mother threw the device at her.
SO F*CK PLDT. BECAUSE OF THAT STUPID CAM, I THINK MY GIRLFRIEND AND I ARE BREAKING UP.]
And to top it all off, a netizen commented with PLDT Fam Cam’s tagline, “Because the strongest connections are at home.”
Seems like there can be no stronger connection that what we just read.
