A video of a man physically abusing a child has been making the rounds online.
The eight-minute clip showed an unidentified man slapping, punching, and kicking a young boy many times. The man becomes increasingly physically aggressive in disciplining the boy while using harsh curse words as well.
The said video was uploaded by Arlene Medina De Vera on June 15, Monday, and sparked outrage among netizens after it was posted on Facebook.
One netizen wrote, “Kulang nalang patayin mo yung bata animal ka.. makakarma ka din .. ikaw kaya sapakin ng sapakin at sipain.. napakawalang hiya mo.. kung may ngawa man un bata pero pangaralan pero un ganyan klaseng pagdidisiplina aba d na tma yan .. may karma ka din gago ka [sic].“
(“You almost killed him, you animal. Karma will get you. What if you were the one being punched and kicked? You have no shame at all. If the child did something wrong, he should be disciplined but that method of disciplining is wrong. There’s such a thing as karma, you idiot.”)
Another said, “Wla man lng naawa sa mga bta dinadaan daanan lng [sic].”
{“No one even took pity on the child, they just passed by him.”}
De Vera said the incident took place in Cupang, Muntinlupa City and commented on the post that it was not the first time the father maltreated his son.
A prior incident where the same man beat his son was reported to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), but the latter said they could not take immediate action against the father unless they find evidence of the beating, according to De Vera.
The video could now serve as strong evidence that could lead to the man’s arrest and the child’s protection under DSWD custody.
The uploader hopes that the mother will get to see what is happening to her son.
UPDATE: De Vera posted an update that the father was arrested by a SWAT team and the child is now under DSWD custody.

This video of a loser father physically abusing his own child is making me sick to my stomach. I feel like kicking his dumb ass head soooo bad! What really made me angry watching this video is the person that taking this video and the no hearted people walking around ignoring the child getting abuse by his father. It’s sad that nobody try to stop IT! Just watching the child suffer from the hand of his father. I hope the father will stay in jail for along time and think of what he’d done wrong to his son. And I hope he’ll never get to live with him again. I pray for that child to be well and safe. I wish I was there to rescue him from that animal and carried him away
