Kupal Lord posted a video on his Facebook page which was captioned ‘Mga Batang Tomador’ (The Young Drunkards). The post has been viewed 87,117 times with 2,454 likes and more than 1,000 comments as of this writing.
The video features a group of minors in an apparent “drinking session” while adults look on and take video of the kids. Kupal Lord’s post stressed that these kids, at their age, are supposed to be playing hopscotch or Chinese garter and not drinking. What’s more detestable is the presence of some adults in the video who allow the children to carry on with their “drinking.”
Whether the kids in the video are consuming real alcohol or just water (that they placed inside a vodka bottle just to gather attention, as per some comments), the message it sends across other kids is inappropriate.
The video, according to some netizens, has been circulating on the internet for the past three years. Whether or not authorities have already acted upon this remains to be confirmed. But now that the video is getting attention and considering the number of child abuse cases online lately, there’s a big chance that the video may reach the authorities to take action.

Netizens aired their angry reactions to the video through their comments. Some belittled the kids for their actions, saying these minors are unfortunately what the future holds for the country. Others castigated the adults / parents for irresponsibly allowing this to even happen.
Should this video of very young children drinking be true (or even just “scripted” for some attention-seekers seeking their 15 minutes of fame), we hope this can get the attention of the DSWD. Alcohol is very harmful for the young, even just the idea of a booze being portrayed by those kids is very unethical and should be properly addressed to prevent the young minds from even thinking about doing the same thing.
