A policeman who went out of his way to help an old beggar bitten by a dog is earning praise online for being a Good Samaritan.
According to RachFeed, the “Good Samaritan” act was shared by Celine Anne Giguera Hugo on Facebook and a screenshot of her post was later shared by the official Facebook page of the Philippine National Police.
In her post, Hugo narrated how she noticed a policeman assisting an old woman and paying for her medical needs. She thought this old woman was the policeman’s mother, but other people in the waiting area said the old woman was a beggar PO2 Jalandoni was merely helping out.
According to the witnesses, the policeman had noticed the old woman crying and just hanging out hopelessly in the waiting area of the public hospital in San Lazaro, Manila. Upon learning that the old beggar did not have money to buy the anti-rabies shots worth P1,200, the policeman took money from his own pocket and paid the bill without asking for anything in return.
Another guy (in red shirt) also handed the old woman some money. Hugo was touched by what she had witnessed, saying she’s happy that there are still plenty of Good Samaritans in this day and age.
Kudos to you, PO2 Jalandoni and the guy in the red shirt! God bless your endeavors.
