5. World Trade Center 9/11 by Steve Ludlum (2001)
Perhaps one of the biggest events that shook the whole world was the bombing of the twin towers in New York City on September 11, 2001. The attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda on the United States in New York City, New York, and Arlington County,Virginia, on the morning of September 11.
Steve Ludlum of the New York Times took this photo which about sums up the terrifying event. It won him the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography.
