After photos of the “headless priest” attending mass in Molo Church, Iloilo City went viral on social media, some people came forward to shed light on this “supernatural” photo.
EXCLUSIVE: Is this a Headless Priest? Family discovers scary apparition in photo
According to a certain Tim Libunao FH in a post on Facebook, he can attest to the authenticity of the photo: IT WAS NOT FAKE OR PHOTOSHOPPED! He clarified this as most of those who commented on the photo believed that Photoshop was used to make the figure’s head disappear.
Tim clarified, however, that the photo was that of a real person, someone who was suffering from a physical deformity called Severe or Advanced Cervical Kyphosis. In this case, this person’s deformity was so severe that it was classified as a “chin to chest deformity”. Viewed from the back, this person (who was actually a woman as many readers also pointed out) appears headless.
To prove his point, Tim shared several photos.
The first in the series was a comparison between the viral photo and another photo, supposedly taken by the brother of a certain Michael Francis Panes Misola. According to Michael, his brother was attending the afternoon mass last April 19, 2015 at Santa Maria Parish Church, Iloilo City, when he noticed the seemingly headless figure. Shocked, the man quickly took a photo of the figure before it disappeared.
When the figure did not waver but continued attending mass, the man realized this just might be a real person. So when the mass ended, he quickly went to investigate and he discovered it was not a headless being, but a woman suffering from a severe form of deformity.
Tim shared this in his explanation as well as several photos of other people suffering from the same condition just to prove that it does exist.
So, there you have it: mystery solved. Thanks to Michael and Tim for the clarification.
