Taxi and ride booking applications are helpful tools in traveling and getting you to your destination. With just a few clicks on your smartphone, a cab or a car will arrive at your doorstep. However, it’s not always a good experience with these ride booking companies.
A loyal Uber customer recently complained about a rude driver she booked using the Uber app. Portia T., who has been a loyal Uber customer since August 2014, was harassed by a Uber driver who not only rejected her and her husband’s booking, he even challenged her husband to a fist fight.
The status about the unfortunate incident was posted on Facebook last June 17, 2015. Portia said the driver told them that he cannot accommodate them because he doesn’t go to their destination (in Muntinlupa). After a calm debate, Portia and her husband decided to leave the car. The driver even shouted at her to just get a cab. However, after they left the car, the driver followed them and accused her husband of slamming the door. The driver also challenged her husband to a fist fight.
Although Portia remained calm and pleaded with the driver to just drive away, he still kept blabbing and challenging the couple. She said it was the worst experience she had with Uber.
UPDATE:
As of this writing, Portia posted another status update about the incident. She said the Uber Support Team has already responded to her email. She is currently waiting for the company’s action regarding the rude driver incident.
On a final note, she said the incident was only an isolated case and she neevr had any bad experience with Uber drivers since she has been their customer since August 2014.
