Who knew broccoli could cost up to P10,000 in an SM supermarket?
Netizen Jogs Vega posted his wife’s receipt when she went shopping in an SM City supermarket in Marikina with a warning to all netizens to check their own receipts carefully before leaving the check out counter. The receipt included a charge for broccoli—which cost more than P10,700—which his wife did not even purchase.
In a similar case, netizen Mae Tronqued posted in the comments section her own experience this time at SM North Edsa when she was charged more than P27,000 for mangosteens which she didn’t buy either.
Fortunately for these two netizens, a sudden 10,000- or 20,000-peso increase in their bills would never go unnoticed.
Another commenter Mae Gallos, however, wasn’t so lucky when she paid P650 for prawns when she actually just bought half a kilo of squid.
This leaves the lesson to always check your receipts. You never know what ridiculous charges could be made for items you didn’t even pick up.
