How would superheroes and Star Wars characters look like if they lived in the 16th century?
This is what French photographer Sacha Goldberger tried to achieve in the quirky photo series titled “Super Flamands.” Goldberger took inspiration from his childhood and gave timeless characters such as Iron Man, Spider-man, Darth Vader, and The Hulk a one-of-a-kind makeover as 16th-century Flemish portrait models.
Speaking to Bored Panda, the photographer said: “I have been working on super heroes with my grandmother mamika for the last five years. Three years ago I did a Flemish painting series. This Super Flemish series is the conclusion of five years of work.”
So what’s the best thing about this photo series? The photographer claims none of these were photoshopped. From getting superhero look-alikes to acquiring 16th century costumes, Goldberger’s team made sure everything would look super awesome!
