On July 27, photos of a human-like creature believed to be an angel made the rounds on social media with a story saying it fell out of the sky and landed on Earth at 1:50 p.m. According to Zonnews, the “angel” fell down in London and was taken away by undercover cops clad in black suits and sunglasses like that of Men in Black agents, while other online users said it was spotted in Texas.
But these were just made up stories. The truth behind this “fallen angel” is the creative and artistic minds of Chinese artists Sun Yuan and Peng Yu, the controversial artists who are known for using unusual materials such as human body fat, for their artworks. According to Dailymail, the duo’s latest sculpture called “Angel” was that of an old woman with featherless wings, caught people’s attention as the fallen angel installation was unveiled in Beijing.

People watch in fascination at the realistic creation of the Chinese artists.
Made out of silica gel, fiberglass, stainless steel, and woven mesh, the fallen angel created controversy online, with some online users validating its supposed authenticity. Some took time to debate about angel’s existence or made fun at the sculpture, while others were simply stunned by the art. Others got the message being implied by the creators.

‘The angel, a transcendent being, has become powerless, unable to carry out God’s will, or to help those who believe in its existence.’
